Book 1 in the NEW Stranded in Provence mystery series is just released!
“My name is Jules Hooker. I have lived through a few crappy moments in my life–and with a name like Hooker, you can just imagine–but nothing, nothing, compares to the two intensely and world-shatteringly crappy things that happened to me this last June.
Three, I guess, if you count Gilbert.
After my ex-boyfriend dumped me on the day I thought he was going to propose, I’d have to say the other two really bad things that happened last June would have to be the dead body I discovered in the rental house in France where I went to get over being dumped, and lastly—and very possibly I should have led with this—the dirty bomb that exploded over the Mediterranean throwing me and everyone else in France back to the 1950s.
Did I mention I’m more or less stuck here now?“
And oh, While I have you, are you familiar with my most popular mystery series below?
MURDER IN THE BISTRO–at 105K words it’s my biggest Maggie Mystery yet and I think my best.
Is there a connection between the cat found napping in the flour barrel of the newest bistro and the dead American chef in the meat freezer? When it comes to Maggie Newberry and the cranky villagers of St-Buvard, how could there not be?
Once more back in Provence, Maggie finds her hands full with village politics ratcheting up to nuclear level, her BFF back on her living room couch—this time with a snotty teenager in tow—and a full blown riot developing over the brand new American-owned bistro.
When the fractious American chef ends up dead, Maggie will need to find out who killed her—and fast—before the chef’s killer decides that two dead Americans in the village are better than one.
Murder in the Bistro brings all your favorite characters front in center–Roger Bedard, Grace, Danielle–in Maggie’s most bizarre case yet. If you’re ready to head back to Provence (and Laurent’s cooking), you will love every nerve-wracking, mouth-watering moment of Maggie’s latest adventure. Guaranteed.
MEANWHILE, check out a few older releases you may have missed….
Here’s Maggie like you’ve never seen her. A trip to the Cotswolds with a step into a past of grandeur and status ends up with a dead body on the welcome mat and more suspects than you can throw a tea cozy at. Maggie teams up with her husband Laurent for this one and it will take both their powers of detection to find out Who Killed Roger Bentley?

Have you read Book 7 in the series, “Murder in the Latin Quarter” ?
For those of you who like to match wits with Maggie to find out the killer before she does I promise I’ve played way fair with you in dropping all the clues you need to figure it out. (I have to say so far most of my Betas haven’t been able to name the killer before the Big Reveal at the end, so if you do, congrats ahead of time!)
Hope you like it as much as I loved writing it. This one was a thrill ride from start to finish and I’m only sorry it had to end!
And the Grammy goes to…….! Nah, just kidding, but the reviews ARE in for MILQ and they’re pretty nice! Check a few out here:
5 Stars–Best Maggie Story Yet (and I didn’t think they could get any better!)–Amazon. I’ve never been disappointed with a Maggie Newberry story, especially Murder in the Latin Quarter. Maggie’s relentless pursuit of the truth about war crimes that may or may not have been committed by a member of Laurent’s family endangered both her and her children. She must unravel a dark web of lies, expose long-kept secrets, and escape from a murderer chasing her through the dark underground boneyards of the Paris catacombs. This is the best story yet in the series – I love the suspense, the vivid and accurate descriptions of Paris, the plot twists and surprises, and the characters.
5 Stars– I love this series, and immediately pre-ordered the next–Goodreads. The character development is great, and the settings in different parts of France are wonderful.
5 Stars–Paris Old World in the Latin Quarter–Amazon. Another great piece of writing from Susan Kiernan-Lewis. I waited so long for another! This one was spectacular. A lot of research had to be done because it delves back in WWII, the German Occupation of Paris, the Resistance, persecution of the Jews….and knowing Paris and the old Latin Quarter. It was exciting, adventurous…we find Maggie taking a lot of changes with the baby. At the end we can all fall back on Laurent and his fabulous cooking! Thank you so much! Can’t wait for the next one!
5 Stars–Interesting and Enjoyable!–Amazon. I have read the entire series and found this one to be the best. The ending was a complete surprise to me. What I really like about these books are the descriptions of the locations and the food. While I have been to Paris, this book went into neighborhoods that I was not familiar, which made the book more interesting and enjoyable. Looking forward to the next book.

“Brand new Irish End Games, amazing as always!” 5 stars The Irish End Games books are so adventurous and exciting they’re hard to put down! Mike and Sarah and their friends and relatives go through a literal hell after the apocalypse in Ireland. They keep trying to find a safe place to stay and never give up, even though they always end up having to move on. Just the daily struggle to survive and to feed everyone is overwhelming at times. They suffer many terrible things, but always persevere. Mike is what I call a truly honorable man, and Sarah is so brave, they are wonderful leaders. Their love for each other and all the other people in their story is amazing to read.
Fantastic Read, 5 stars! I have read all of the Irish End Games books and loved them all. They are so exciting that I can’t put them down until I am finished. Book 1 through Book 7 never disappoints. I can’t wait until Book 8 is published. Susan Kiernan-Lewis is on my list of favorite authors.
You will never never be disappointed! 5 stars. Just as much suspense as the previous 6 books. Kept me up reading till the wee hours of the night. I recommend it!

Book 6 of the Irish End Game series–biggest one yet!
In the sixth installment of The Irish End Games, Sinead Branigan has found a way to create happiness for a nation of childless couples–by stealing and selling the babies of post-apocalyptic Ireland.
When Mike and Sarah return from their search for John and Gavin, they find their home and compound deserted, their friends and family inexplicably gone without any apparent struggle.
Will they be able to piece together the mystery in time to find their people? Or will they be forced to accept a new kind of life–one tragically changed for generations to come?
Cold Comfort is the biggest Irish End Games book to date, clocking in at 100k words. This one has a lot of story to tell and a lot of answers to reveal.
And the reader reviews agree…
FIVE STARS! Great series can’t even imagine what will happen in the next book. I couldn’t put it down. I keep thinking that the worst has already happened and here it goes again. Very impressive, hope to get the next book soon.–S. Tulley, Amazon Reviewer.
FIVE STARS! …Loved this series. I couldn’t put it down! I am sure that is what it would be like. Maybe we should all hone up on our skills and values. A real fast paced page turner!!! Nancy M. Amazon Reviewer.
FIVE STARS! How long until the next one? I’m irish and from Florida. This story speaks to me and who I am on so many levels. AsaB. Amazon Reviewer.
FIVE STARS! MORE BOLD THAN COLD By Norahs on June 16, 2015. The series just keeps on getting better and better. We better pray that a catastrophic situation such as this does not happen in our world. However, there are areas of the world where things that happen in the book do take place. Being a book, the good guys come out on top. Love the way all the characters come together for the greater good. Can’t wait for the next book.
And in case you missed it: RISING TIDES Book 5
The tides are definitely rising in the 5th installment of the Irish End Game Series. Rising Tides is the story of two desperate journeys to find lost loved ones culminating in a shocking discovery—one with the power to destroy all of Europe. Mike and Sarah, searching for both John and Gavin in every bungalow and hillock in Ireland in the midst of a mysterious world plague, instead find the stuff of every parent’s nightmares.
The Reviews are in–with an average ranking of 4.6!
If you are familiar with the reviews I have written of books 1,2, and 3 in this series, then you know how much I love them. It is a beautiful story of an American family who went on vacation in Ireland and ended up being trapped by a third world war. The bomb that explodes over the Irish Sea takes out all the electricity and all the cars and leaves the family and all of Ireland in the world of the 1800 hundreds. I just finished the 4th and 5th books in the series and they are just as compelling as the first 3. In fact, I went back and reread the first 3 books and I think I loved them more the second time. If you like reading about the apocalypse then you will read these books over and over. You won’t find any zombies, but you will find plenty of evil men and women who are just as scary and just as brutal. Plus, zombies aren’t sneaky and come at you out in the open. Humans plan and manipulate and turn good people against one another. The main characters are very real and have layers of determination to survive whatever threatens them. The author tells us at the end of the fifth book that there will be a sixth. I can’t wait. Do yourself a favor and get the first book “Free Falling,” and become involved in an adventure that could really happen to anyone. You’ll love it!!
The plot of this book evolves around another issue that can happen after a nuclear bomb explosion — new diseases or plagues with no apparent cure or preventive action. The people at the head of countries have risen from lower positions before the bomb and don’t necessarily have the best intentions. The Irish Prime Minister craves power for Ireland that has not yet experienced the new plague. A teenager looks for his older step brother who is missing and takes the last boat that is allowed to leave Ireland for England? How will he ever get back? How will his mother and step father ever find him and the other missing brother? These questions are all answered in this suspenseful continuing series of books.
In the previous book the author (I thought) came perilously close to sliding off into fantasy land – and ruining the integrity of the series. But, once again, she rallied to prove me wrong. And the effort put forth here is astounding.
The American Woodson family, reduced to Sarah (the mother) and John (her son) have now been taken in by Mike Donovan’s family by virtue of Sarah’s marriage to Mike. And Sarah & a John, as well as Mike and son Gavin couldn’t be more pleased. But that’s not to say that there life has become a bed of roses. Dangers and betrayal lurk around every morning sun – and they abound in this volume as, in the midst of a crisis both John and Gavin go missing. And months & months of searching commence, leading to unbelievable intrigue filled with lies, betrayal, and misunderstandings. And by some of those you’d least likely suspect, no less.
Meanwhile, both John & Gavin are busy with adventures of their own. Both quite different. But just as dangerous.
To say that the peace and solitude of what once was ‘Donovan’s Lot’ has been shattered is an understatement. But far more serious concerns are afoot too. And John & Gavin are both waist deep in it. With Mike & Sarah only marginally behind.
A true mystery and adventure for everyone involved. And things may never again be he same for the Donovan’s.
