Hi, Alice…not soon enough, that’s for sure. 🙂 Editorial changes had me releasing two other books from another series instead and I had to postpone the 7th Maggie book. I’m hoping to have it out by late fall or early 2016. (Hope you stick with me that long!) 🙂
On Book 6 now and am loving the series! Read first 5 in a week… I’m officially addicted -that and the flu helped aid in giving me “free time.” Can’t wait to see how Nice goes down and I’m already anticipating Book 7! Thanks for the journey!

Just discovered Maggie and have read the first five on my Nook in a week. Question: is Maggie’s baby named Jean Bentley or Jean Michel? In book 5 he was named for Laurent’s friend, Roger Bentley. In book 6, his name is given as Jean Michel or Jem. Maybe it is explained later in book 6 ? I’ll be reading it this weekend. Also purchased the Mia Kazmarov series and look forward to a different type of heroine, though Maggie and Laurent are wonderful in their coxy way. glad to have found another author I so thoroughly enjoy!
Good catch, Kate! I changed the baby’s name b/c resurrecting Roger Bentley made it a tad complicated what with Roger Bedard appearing so prominently in Books 3 and 5 so i nixed the middle name after all and went with Michel. I need to go back and change in in 5 so thanks for reminding me! Glad you’re enjoying the series and hope you like Mia, too. 🙂 Thanks for writing!

Have your first seven books,on book six. Well written, great reading. One question, one request, one comment. Would it be possible for Maggie to say ‘yes’ instead of ‘yeah?’ Would love more involvement from Laurent. And excellent for me, the French phrases with translations are well timed. My darling is an Israeli, born in Morocco, much of his life raised in France. He is handsome, tall, and much the temperament as Laurent. I copy your French and share them with him. One would never find such phrases from French lesson books. A grateful thank you and well done to you. Tru

BTW you should love Book 8, “Murder in the Abbey” to be released next month (March 2016) because it’s the first time Maggie works a case alongside Laurent instead of on her own or with Grace. I’ve just finished Murder in the Latin Quarter and just about to start Murder in the Abbey – I love these books. I hope there will be more after Murder in the Bistro is released – I’ll be downloading that one as soon as it’s released.
I’m so glad you like them, Linda. Yes, I’ll do another later in the fall and probably another three next year. I feel like there’s still a lot of story left with Maggie and her life in Provence. I love your books-the characters and places and culture. I like that there’s not sex talk and profanity all through each story. Except for ocassionally the gd word is used which I think the point could still be made by using just the word “damn” instead of “g__damn”. It seems out of place since there’s not that much profanity used in the books. Thank you for listening to my opinion!

I love your Maggie Newberry books. I lived in France for a time and completely see her escapades and miscommunications. I’d love to suggest other parts of France for Maggie to explore: The Haute Savoie, Annecy, the French Alps, etc… Even living there, I found that France was so varied from place to place. I love Lyon and the amazing food, Strasbourg was frankly a moving experience after attending a concert at the cathedral. I am sure you understand where I am coming from. Please keep writing about Maggie. l love these books because they take me back to my adventures in France 20 years ago.
Thank you for writing me, Susan. It was good to get confirmation from you, too, about branching out a bit more with Maggie. (I’ve been wanting to write Murder in Grenoble forever!) I lived in Alsace as a child and also long to set a Maggie book there. But the key is that France is a big enough country, and as you say, diverse and varied enough to support her moving about a bit. After Cannes, I’m thinking of find a reason for Maggie to go north (not to Paris altho I love it but I’ve set two mysteries there already) for a bit. Anyway, thanks for underscoring the idea of taking Maggie out of the south now and then. Where did you live when you were there?
Just wanted to let you know how much I have enjoyed the Maggie books. I have breast cancer, and your books have helped me get through surgery & chemo this summer & fall. I have read all but 3 of the Maggie books. I also have enjoyed reading Swept Away & Carried Away. Am looking forward to reading Stolen Away. Ella & Rowan have such great adventures. Thanks for all of the enjoyment you have given me.

Thank you for your kind words about the books; I’m so glad we found each other. 🙂 Luc Thayer came on the scene in “Murder in Arles.” Laurent found him at the monastery and one thing led to another–by the end of the book Laurent and unofficially adopted him!
