Here’s the page of really cool stuff that I find and pass along to you!

This  cotton tote bag is padded with a thick fleece Screen Shot 2015-12-26 at 9.31.02 AM (1)padding to protect your laptop. I got mine at the CDG airport and use it nearly every time I leave the house.   Kuzy – PARIS Travel Tote Bag Cotton Handmade 16-inch for MacBook and Laptop, Book Bags – Paris  $29.99.

What would a vicarious trip to Provence be without lavender? I use mine in my vacuum51+5zNQI8LL cleaner, in bowls scattered about the house and loose in my lingerie drawer. $8.15 for a half pound–directly from Provence. Click Here: TMT Lavender Flowers Ultra Blue Grade, 1/2 lb

I can’t tell you how many times I open David Lebovitz’s amazing My Paris Kitchen cookbook. hardbackstandingstraight_890x1110-2
Even if I’m not cooking from it, I keep it on my bedside to dip into David’s accompanying stories for an instant hit of Paris. At 19.77, the hardback version is less than a dollar more than the Kindle version and you’ll love having it as a part of your permanent cookbook collection. Click HereMy Paris Kitchen: Recipes and Stories

And that goes double for his amazing The Sweet Life in Paris–Delicious Adventures in the World’s Most Glorious-and Perplexing-City.   Onthickpaperbackfront_604x964ly $9.60 and a must-have if you love Paris and even remotely have  a sweet tooth! Click Here: The Sweet Life in Paris: Delicious Adventures in the World’s Most Glorious – and Perplexing – City

I already mentioned this book in my newsletter but in case you were too busy over the holidays to open it, I’m mentioning it again because it’ll probably be one of those hardbackstandingstraight_890x1110-2 copybooks I love forever. All the Light We Cannot See is the story about a blind French girl and a German boy whose paths collide in occupied France as both try to survive the devastation of World War II. There’s a reason this book won the Pulitzer in 2016. I read it in the process for my research on writing “Murder in the Latin Quarter,” (altho this book does not take place in Paris it gives you a very good idea of what the occupation felt like in the rest of France.) $13.99 Kindle or $15.29 hardback.                                            Click HereAll the Light We Cannot See

The amazing Le Creuset! Laurent wouldn’t cook with anything else and neither do I. My set is wildly mismatched from discontinued colors in the vintage pieces I inherited from my father, who taught 81wk+OVvg3L._SL1500_me to cook (see how the whole male-cooking-thing was a natural in the Maggie books?) to the newer updated casserole shades. (J’adore the Marseille blue.) I won’t do a whole sales pitch for you on the brand but suffice to say, I do not believe Le Creuset has been improved upon by any of its competitors. Pierre Biscuiterie French Butter Cookies with Mixed Berries 5.29 Oz. Box (Pack of 3) I love these cookies because they melt in your mouth and remind me of France but also because they are so much like the cookies my brothers and I used to eat when we lived in Ars-sur-Moselle as children. Try them and let me know if they’re not as perfect as I say they are!  $19.99.

Until Ladurée starts shipping to the States (they don’t at the moment) this will tide you over for macarons. Ideal to give of course but here’s where hoarding makes sense too. I am almost never without these amazing little pastries. Definitely one of the “little things” that make life so much better. Love Obsession Gift Box of Macarons, $22.

What could be more Provençal than Cezanne? In 1886 Paul Cézanne left Paris permanently to settle in his native Aix-en-Provence. I love art coffee table books and this one does the trick when you need a breath of Provence but no time to actually go yourself. Cézanne and Provence The Painter in His Culture is $40.

I assume most people who are interested in France have seen Woody Allen’s61WHnlZzQHL love letter to Paris, Midnight in Paris, but I include it here because when you need a hit of Paris there’s
nothing easier (or cheaper) than curling up with this
beautiful movie–over and over again.
